Wye Valley Canoes

Laze away a sunny day on the River Wye, paddle along one of Britain's most beautiful rivers. Tremendous views of the Black Mountains and Hay Bluff can be seen to the south with 'Kilvert' country and Clyro to the north.

In the summer months book in advance to save disappointment, and please let us know if you cannot make the booked day.

The River Wye from Glasbury is ideal for family trips with only a few grade 1-2 small rapids. A wide range of wildlife can be seen on the river and around the river banks. On route you can stop at selected places to take a break or have a small bbq. Please note all litter must be taken with you as the river is used by many paddlers, fishermen and of course the wildlife.

5.5 miles will take you to Hay-on-Wye, about two hours down stream. Hay is famous for its second-hand bookshops, holidaymakers comefrom all over the world to the `book' capital of Britain and now everywhere you look bookshops, printshops and antique dealers make this a great place to visit.

11 miles will allow you plenty of time to relax on a peacefull stretch of the river Wye, sit on the riverbank and enjoy a packed lunch. Some fresh goodies are available from the River Cafe. Pass under the old tollbridge before you end your trip with a drink at the Boat Inn at Whitney.

Alternatively, try camping or b&b'ing it down the Wye. When you reach your destination you telephone us and we come and collect you in our minibus and return you to your car in Glasbury.
