What You Get

On the day I will sketch using pen and ink, make notes and take a few snapshots. The colour-pencil work is done later in the studio along with the final preparation of the portfolio.

If you wish, I can arrive early to sketch the bride and bridesmaids having their make-up applied, or hairstyling. I can sketch any other important people and small details such as hair brushes, flowers, gifts and extra details of the wedding preparations.

I will join you at the church to draw guests, and the couple at the alter, during the ceremony. It helps if I have a place reserved with a good view of the altar.

At the reception I will mingle and sketch whilst your guests enjoying the festivities. Most guests will have got used to me being there by now and so will  usually be happy to come and see what I am doing. I will need to take a break for a bite to eat during this time, so that I can continue to sketch during the next phase of the wedding celebrations.

Wedding Breakfast & Speeches

I will draw during the wedding breakfast; usually a more detailed study drawn for a slightly longer time. This would then usually be followed by smaller sketches throughout the speeches. I can make note of key phrases and moments, which work well alongside the drawings.

I can remain for maybe an hour or so into the evening celebrations to draw and sketch dancers and evening guests.

After the ceremony is over, I will retutn to my studio and draw incidental images such as the cake, the car and church. I then produce a hand-drawn portfolio of between 10-15 A3 pages of illustrations, with colour. This will then be mailed to you within two to three weeks of your wedding day.

Studies will be viewable on-line once the portfolio is competed and then any of the drawings may be ordered in the form of a giclee print, the price of an A4 unframed print would be £25. These are often popular with guests.

I am currently working on a range of other Products, details of which will be shown here soon. If you are interested in a 'story-book' version of your wedding day, or a bespoke hand-drawn montage of images and words - please contact me for details on prices which will be worked out on an individual basis.

I've been drawing all my life; I really like drawing people.

I have been drawing since I was a girl. I drew for my brother, my mum and dad, for friends - anyone that would pay attention to the drawings I made! I have travelled and I have drawn, I have stayed still and I have drawn and I have drawn instead of doing the ironing. If you'd like to find out more about this aspect of my life, you could click here to visit my blog.

I studied at Exeter College of Art from 1990 to 1993, where I gained a first class honours degree in Fine Art. I then went on to work as a model maker for Aardman Animations in Bristol, before eventually training as a teacher. My dream has always been to draw, to tell stories and to illustrate. This is my new venture into drawing as a way of life, as a way to tell the story of an event of occasion and to use my skills to be of service to others.

I hope you will consider contacting me. I am very happy to discuss individual requirements and welcome unusual and alternative weddings and events, of any kind.
